Build your own GlowMo install — DIY parts checklist
Everything you need to wire a clean RGB underglow + interior install from scratch. Buy GlowMo-branded for the parts that touch your install, source commodity tools from Amazon if you don't already own them.

1. Professional Addressable RGB Strip Required
The light itself. Individually addressable, true 12V auto-grade, fully waterproof, cuttable every 3 LEDs. Buy the length you need plus 10% spare.

Single-zone (app + remote + music sync) for basic builds. Multi-zone (eight independent zones) for show builds where each wheel well needs its own scene. Both pre-flashed for plug-and-play.
Get a Smart Controller in the Underbody Kit →3. 3-conductor LED extension wire Required
Three wires bundled (12V + signal + ground) for clean strip-to-strip runs. Stranded copper, NOT solid. Pure copper only — copper-clad-aluminum wire fails under vibration.

3-pin gold-plated connectors. Pre-pigtailed = no soldering needed for strip-to-strip joins. Saves 30 min per install.

Cap the cut ends of your strip and seal them with clear silicone. Keeps water out of the LEDs at the cut points. Standard refrigerator-grade clear silicone works.

6. Curb Guard 8-Pack Lowered builds only
If your car is bagged, lowered, or runs stance, the curb guard is what saves your strip. Mounts thicker than the LED — bumper scrape hits the guard first, your full LED kit stays alive.

7. Soldering iron + tips
30-60W adjustable iron is plenty for LED work. Look for kits with a few tip sizes — fine for delicate work, bigger for power-wire joins.

Holds your strip + wire + components while you solder. The magnifier saves your eyes on tiny joints.

60/40 lead-tin rosin-core, 0.6-0.8mm diameter is the sweet spot for LED work. Lead-free works too (slightly fussier).

Fine-tip stainless. For positioning small connectors, holding wires while soldering, picking up the inevitable dropped pixel.

Combo wire cutter + stripper. Auto-strippers (the kind with the gauge dial) are worth the extra $15 — way faster than manual.
